Hey, it’s payday, and you’re looking to treat yourself after a long week of not flipping every document on your work desk and throwing the computer out of the window. Of course, that treat is going to be makeup (what else would it be), but what do you choose?
Swatch Party Fridays are here to save the day! After watching ThatGirlShaeXO perform dozens (if not hundreds) of live swatches on her face it inspired me to do the same all in the name of helping you find that next holy grail item.
Every week I’ll swatch a product on my arm and respective application site (minus glitters because, at the end of the day, I love myself too much to do that to my face). I hope this growing swatch catalog of my own personal collection will help you decide if it’s meant to have a home in your check out basket.
After all, what better way to celebrate the weekend than with makeup? I’ll wait…
Lit cosmetics has gained popularity over the past few years for their vast assortment of glitters and unique glitter adhesive. Are they still an indy brand? Can you be indy and have a Sephora slot? These are my very important questions!
Anyway, back to the glitter. The Lit website recommends a “Dunk, dip, and dab” style of application. What does this mean? Well it’s suggested you take a clean brush, dunk it into the glitter base, then dip that wet brush into the glitter pot at an angle, and finally dab the product to the face in short strokes. As someone who owns both the glitter and adhesive, I thoroughly recommend following their instructions. In fact, I use the same method for the rest of my glitters thanks to them and get very cool results.
For the below swatches, I totally ignored them because who wants to dirty a brush when I have my nasty fingers I can dip into the product and smear on with some Model’s Own Glitter Glue? Sure not I.
These glitters retail for around $16 USD.
I’m sorry! Blurry photos help show the dimension of the glitter…I don’t mean to trigger anyone with bad photography…
